At the 22-12-2023 Musasino anounced the following:

"At the 80th session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC80) held in July, 2023, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) adopted a greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction strategy that includes "zero GHG emissions by around 2050".

Carbon dioxide capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), which involves the capture, conversion and storage of carbon dioxide (CO2), is attracting significant attention as an effective means of achieving net zero GHG emissions.

Since CO2 emission sites and storage/utilization sites are often far apart, demand for liquefied carbon dioxide carriers (LCO2 carriers) is expected to increase in the future as a means of transporting CO2 safely and at low cost.

Musasino, building on their experience with liquefied gas carriers, is proud to have supplied the world's first liquid level gauge system for marine tanks installed on an LCO2 carrier.

Taking this delivery as an opportunity, Musasino hopes to contribute to the reduction of GHG emissions and the decarbonization of society by actively proposing liquid level measurement systems for LCO2 carriers.

The test vessel will be loaded with LPG and LCO2 for different purposes, and the float type liquid level gauge, which can measure any almost any type of liquid, is ideal for LCO2 measurement as well."
